The First Silesian War 1740–1742
In the 18th century, the Czech Lands repeatedly became the main ground of the Austro-Prussian conflicts. The War of Austrian Succession ended for Maria Theresa in 1742 with an unfavourable Treaty of Breslau and Berlin according to which she ceded most of Silesia and Glatz (Kłodzko) to Prussia. The Second Silesian War (1744–1745) again ended in the victory of Prussia. After the end of the Seven Years' War (1763), Austria definitely ceded a major part of Silesia and Glatz. The last war concerned the Bavarian succession and ended in an armistice in 1779.
